Water Loving Catheters - Hydrophilic Catheters

Coated catheters or hydrophilic catheters were introduced to reduce long-term urethral complications. They are more preferable to a standard catheter. Hydrophilic catheters coated along the entire length with a hydrophilic polymer, usually polyvinyl-pyrrolidone (PVP) and same with sodium chloride.

Straight Tipped Catheters

Straight tip catheters are tapered at the end so that they can pass smoothly through the urethra. They are the simplest form of intermittent catheters and are different from others just because of the shape of the tip. The rest of the features of this catheter depend on whether they are coated, non-coated, pre-lubricated catheters.
